Vacation, mid-summer, daylight, savings time, dog days, lemonade & picnic. Sounds like summer and what could be better than to spend these days backpacking in Europe?
Of all the places that I have known over time across this continent, today I`ll like to share with all of you those sites that I call `my hiding spots in Europe´, you know, those destinations that no one talks about.

1. Palmi – Regio di Calabria, Italy
When I was embarking on this trip I chose to do “couch surfing”, it was my first times, and I was a bit worried, but it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life. I discovered empty beaches in the middle of June (something rare in Italy), swim around olive trees, and I had the opportunity also to go to one of the most creative and innovative museums that my eyes have ever seen at the top of a mountain: MUSABA – Fondazione Spatari/Maas
2. Fishing Village Northeast of Amsterdam, Volendam
Holland has dream places! This trip I undertook when I was visiting Amsterdam, I wanted to meet new destinations, so I booked a day trip to a fishing village northeast of Amsterdam, no more than an hour. The islands near the village had their charm for being recognized for the production of cheese and by the windmills.
3. Biarritz, South Of France
Nothing like the south of France! A paradise with the best beaches to surf, in small medieval towns full of art and french gastronomy. Ideal for a day trip as for staying for a weekend enjoying sunlight’s and fresh seafood.
4. Viterbo, Lacio Region. Italy
No more than 2 hours from Rome you will find this town, surrounded by nature and ruins, with a resemblance to Rome. Lose yourself walking around the city and find places of interest like its medieval quarter and the ancient Palace of the Popes, which dates back to the 13th century.
